post-Matisyahu show:

up in the sky
and I thank you to my God, now I finally got it right
and ill fight with all my heart and with all my soul and with all my might" -MATISYAHU-

shining beauty
in a cosmic whirl
leaving us
in between breathes

and bringing down
summer stardust
with blinding light
on your way down

you cast a spotlight
in my eye
and im frozen still
the world melts

and we are
soaring higher
to Him
on your wings

you are the quick ticket
that brings me just
outside the gate
just outside the gate

enter the gate
it’s all I’m trying to do
it’s all I’m here to do
that’s all I want to do

I’ve caught a glimpse of His light
it’s all around us now
I can see clearly
there is no more fog now

never stop singing
Him praise
He might just
sing back

yes, that’s Him
He’s singing back
or wait
that was you

what is the reason for us having this intricate, ever- expanding mind? maybe it was just a part of the test protocol. if given the choice would we choose the "Eternal YES" or distract ourselves with how we got such a brain and forget the question along the way? this free choice and the rationalism that is needed for some to answer the question (others solely base it on faith) is supposedly what separates us from the rest of the animals. when we do say YES it feels as if we flow with everything, especially nature and all its creations. we sink into a greatness and the minds we hold are second rate to the energy that gently directs us along.

The salt of the sea is in our blood; the calcium of the rocks is in our bones; the genes of ten thousand generations of stalwart progenitors are in our cells. The sun shines and we smile. The wind rages and we bend before them. The blossoms open and we rejoice. Earth is our long home.

-Stewart Holmes from Zen art for meditation-

intermittent glimpses of reality. fused steel, bent metal, ruler-straight plywood fall back into the dirt, the puddles and the invisible air. always have and always will.

i was walking home from school today and the wind was really strong. i got a chill but then i started thinking that it's God- in the wind- saying hello to us. the wind's balancing out the world.
i remembered hearing this little boy this summer yelling to his friend who was complaining about the wind while they were biking on the beach "to just play with it."
so that's what i did on my way home.

most events are inexpressible,
taking place in a realm
which no word has ever entered,
and more inexpressible than all else
are works of art,
mysterious existences,
the life of which,
while ours passes away,

led zeppelin's stairway

Cat Empire's show last night was absolutely incredible. It was a lot of funk, a lot of jazz, a lot of dancing and floating above the over the top trumpet playing.

What is this life coursing in my veins?
Could it be other than divine?

one person, in different stages of development

they pray with just one mind.
do you ever see others as stages of yourself?
you hear someone telling a story, and you can quietly recall the exact time you experienced something very similar to what you're hearing this person say to you now.
it's as if we were all just on this continuum, from a to b, start to finish.
the starting point is the plastic, the wrapper, the farthest point away.
the finish line is the seed, the sun, the whole, the One.
wouldn't we all love to be at the farthest point, finishing the marathon?
eventually, with determination we will reach it.
but for now we must slowly take each inch as it comes.
we spot people who are miles ahead of us and they tell us tales of our future.
they help us with the present, by recalling their past.
they even yank us forward, but there's only so far that they can reach.
we have to do the walking ourselves.
i'll meet you at the finish line,
except it won't be me anymore.

as the speck draws closer
to the flame it loses its shape
slowly it comes nearer
and then it disappears
the flame ate it up.

These all with one mind were continually devoting themselves to prayer.

With flowers, with bright skies, with the divine manna of joy in happy minds, with souls full of wisdom, with songs of the birds, with divine melodies in the hearts of men, my Beloved is calling me to retrace my footsteps to His home of peace within.
