i've been on a ride. met a beautiful man. finished school. went to cuba. making lots of room for the new. wrote some poems this morning. this one's about the individual versus the whole.
I versus the cosmos yet still you remain small as the sun calls you by soul and stretches you out long invites you to sing yet still you remain small as the Great Wind taps on your door to show you the gifts that you have asked it to bring won’t you explore? yet still you cut yourself off yet still you remain small when the earth births berries, flowers and juice that yearns for your lips yet you give her your tooth accept the gifts and stand up tall for that’s the redeeming offer to give back for it all yet still you cut yourself off yet still you remain small you close the door you turn up the sound you throw more noise where glory is to be found won’t you clean up for glory to be found why not stand up? why not sing out why not dance in grace at the abundance that pours out why do you remain small?
it’s given freely each day not to your heavy name but for your infinite, light soul the abundance pours out freedom to share beauty to give redeem with a straight back, open hands and a wave from your heart yet still you cut yourself off yet still you remain small when all your nightly cries are fulfilled in the day dropped in places so obvious to see why can’t you receive? why can’t you accept? why do you cut yourself off? why do you remain small?
the mother prepares a feast yet the child won’t come to the table it has all been laid out all the dreams have been brought to the fore but still you wander why won’t you come home? please stand up tall and melt back into the cosmos she’s calling you again to melt back into the cosmos
ride the wings you were meant to soar please stand up tall as you melt back into the cosmos | |
