Jelaluddin Rumi

"The Prophets are a single Being. If you deny one of them, you deny all. The Prophets recognize and support and blend with each other. There's only One Light coming through the phrophetic window. The same Sun shines through the bodies of all those Messengers. If you disbelieve one of them, you're like a bat that says, "Yesterday's sun was fine, but today, I feel shy in the light. " The answer to that is that the two suns are identical. The only difference is that you can't be tested in yesterday's light.

In the same way, if a snake on the bank says, "I used to swim in the water that formerly flowed in this creek, but I'm not accustomed to this new water," the answer is, "This water and that water are the same, the only difference being that you cannot be tested as a swimmer in the previous water, which you claim is so different."

Once a Zen master held out a pencil and balanced it on his finger. He said, "if you concentrate on either side of the pencil, it'll fall. Concentrate on where your finger is."
